Children benefit from Shade Tree Garage’s giving efforts in 2014

Last year, the owner of Shade Tree Garage made several contributions that had significant benefits for children of all ages in his local community.  Because of the twice-a-month free Child Safety Seat checks, over 180 parents are now able to make sure their children are seated safely and securely in their vehicles.  Additionally, children (ages 8 to 10) on the travel teams for the Morris United Soccer Club received free soccer gear and the club received checks resulting from a portion of Michelin tire purchases.

“As a long-standing business member in Morristown, I have a strong desire to give back to the community that has helped our shop become a success,” states John O’Connor, owner of Shade Tree Garage.  He adds, “The Child Safety Seat Checks are a no-brainer for me, especially now that I have several grandchildren.  When it comes to supporting the Morris United Soccer Club, I’ve been coaching soccer for decades.  It’s nice to be able to support an organization that’s brought me much enjoyment over the years.”

To make sure parents know how to properly install and use child car safety seats, Shade Tree Garage and Safe Kids hold Child Safety Seat Checks on the second Saturday, from 8am to noon, and third Tuesday, from 5pm to 8pm, of every month.  All Child Safety Seat Check events are open and free to the public and held at Shade Tree Garage, which is located at 171 Washington Street in Morristown, New Jersey.

“During the free Child Safety Seat Check events, we have certified technicians on hand to examine the child safety seat to make sure it is safely installed and appropriate for the height and weight of the child,” states O’Connor.  For more information, interested individuals can go to our Facebook Page (http://facebook.com/ShadeTreeGarage) or call the shop at 973-540-9880.
